Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in structural analysis and design, capable of managing projects from concept through to completion. You will collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to deliver outstanding results.

Responsibilities

• Assess the structural integrity of existing buildings and infrastructure.
• Prepare and present reports on structural assessments.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on large-scale projects.
• Ensure adherence to sustainable engineering practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in training programs.
• Engage with local authorities on project permits and approvals.
• Develop cost estimates and budgets for projects.
• Conduct forensic engineering investigations as needed.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or similar field
• Master's degree in related field preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience in structural engineering

Technical Skills

• Revit
• Microsoft Project

Certifications

• Building Code Official (BCO)
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in seismic design: Understanding and application of seismic design principles.
