Job Description

We are searching for a dedicated Forest Fire Control Officer to join our EcoProtect Services team. This vital role requires the candidate to implement fire prevention strategies and respond to fire incidents in our lush natural reserves. The ideal candidate will possess a profound understanding of fire behavior and effective firefighting techniques, ensuring the safety of both the environment and the community.

Responsibilities

  • Lead fire prevention training programs for community members and local volunteers.
  • Perform risk assessments for fire-prone areas and recommend mitigative actions.
  • Engage with the community to promote fire safety awareness and best practices.
  • Evaluate and test firefighting equipment and tools regularly.
  • Conduct post-incident reviews to improve future response strategies.
  • Participate in the development of emergency response plans.
  • Collaborate with environmental specialists to assess forest health.
  • Implement community engagement programs to enhance fire safety awareness.
  • Conduct training workshops for local emergency services.
  • Provide advice on new fire management tools and systems.

Requirements

Education
  • Degree in Environmental Studies or a related field is preferred
  • Further qualifications in forestry or fire management are a plus
Experience
  • Experience in coordinating fire suppression operations is advantageous.
