Government Relations Officer

Job Description

As a Government Relations Officer in Cape Town, you will work closely with government officials and community leaders to promote our organization's interests. Your role will involve analyzing proposed legislation, preparing reports, and representing our organization in public forums to advance our policy objectives and enhance community relations.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with government officials and agencies.
• Draft and review communications related to government affairs.
• Conduct outreach to build support for legislative initiatives.
• Analyze legislative proposals and provide feedback on implications for our organization.
• Develop partnerships with other organizations to amplify advocacy efforts.
• Report on the effectiveness of advocacy strategies and make recommendations for improvement.
• Stay informed on best practices in government relations and public policy.
• Prepare and deliver presentations to stakeholders and the public.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in International Relations or related field
• Master's degree in Public Administration is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in advocacy or public policy
