Building Inspector

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Building Inspector to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of building codes and regulations, ensuring compliance throughout the construction process. This role is integral to maintaining safety and quality standards on-site, providing inspections, and facilitating communication between stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive inspections to verify compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to review construction plans and specifications.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, findings, and follow-up actions.
• Facilitate communication between stakeholders to resolve compliance concerns.
• Monitor the progress of corrective actions taken for non-compliance issues.

Requirements

Education

• BTech in Building Science or related field
• Postgraduate qualifications in construction management are preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in building inspection or related fields

Certifications

• National Building Inspector Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic
