Pet Groomer

Job Description

We are currently on the lookout for a skilled Pet Groomer to join our dedicated team in Durban. The successful candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong understanding of grooming techniques to ensure pets look and feel their best. This role involves all aspects of pet grooming, from bathing and drying to cutting and styling.

Responsibilities

• Groom pets according to breed standards and owner preferences.
• Provide exceptional customer service and build relationships with clients.
• Conduct general health checks on pets prior to grooming.
• Administer ear cleaning and nail clipping as part of grooming services.
• Participate in ongoing education related to grooming and pet care.
• Create an engaging and stress-free grooming experience for all pets.
• Track inventory and order grooming supplies as needed.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Pet grooming certification is advantageous

Experience

• 3+ years of hands-on grooming experience

Technical Skills

• Grooming Equipment Proficiency
• First Aid for Pets

Soft Skills

• Problem Solving
• Teamwork

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Proficiency in specific grooming software: Experience with scheduling and client management software is a plus.
• Additional animal care experience: Experience in veterinary settings or other animal care roles is valued.
