Civil Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be involved in all phases of civil engineering projects, from conception through to completion. The role requires strong technical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, stakeholders, and fellow engineers to create innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering studies and design projects from conception to completion.
• Coordinate with local authorities and stakeholders to ensure alignment with community needs.
• Review project proposals and budgets for feasibility.
• Assist in project planning and scheduling to meet deadlines.
• Provide expertise in materials selection and construction methods.
• Prepare project documentation and reports for stakeholders.
• Implement best practices for sustainable engineering solutions.
• Analyse risk and develop mitigation strategies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Master's degree in Civil Engineering is preferred

Experience

• At least 7 years of project experience in civil engineering

Technical Skills

• Reinforced Concrete Design
• Highway Design

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Civil Engineering Technologist (CET) certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in project budgeting and financial management: Ability to manage project finances effectively.
• Background in environmental engineering: Knowledge of environmental regulations and impact assessments.
