Job Description

Exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist in Cape Town! In this role, you will create tailored therapy programs to assist patients in improving their functional skills. Your expertise will be crucial in guiding them through rehabilitation processes, working one-on-one or in group settings to foster both physical and emotional recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough patient evaluations to determine areas of need.
  • Design and apply therapeutic exercises tailored to patients’ individual goals.
  • Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, and other therapists for holistic patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records for compliance and review.
  • Conduct follow-up assessments to track improvement and outcomes.
  • Develop educational materials for patients and their families.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and training.
  • Assist with case management and discharge planning.
  • Provide consultation and support to healthcare staff on occupational therapy practices.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting
