Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Port Elizabeth. In this role, you will assess risk and determine policy terms to ensure the financial success of our insurance programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of underwriting principles and excellent analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess new submissions and existing accounts for risk evaluation.
• Negotiate policy terms and management of inquiries.
• Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions and client interactions.
• Prepare detailed reports on underwriting activities.
• Work with the claims department to understand any arising issues.
• Assist in the development of training materials for junior underwriters.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries promptly.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the insurance field with a focus on underwriting

• Underwriting Software Proficiency

Certifications

• Chartered Insurance Practitioner

Languages

• English: Fluent
