Job Description

We're on the lookout for a meticulous and strategically minded Risk Assessment Officer to join our growing team in Sandton. This role involves evaluating financial processes, identifying vulnerabilities, and providing actionable insights to mitigate risks. The risk officer will collaborate closely with various departments to ensure compliance and safeguard our assets while fostering a culture of risk awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess risks associated with financial transactions and activities.
  • Develop risk management models to mitigate financial exposure.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulations.
  • Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis of financial strategies.
  • Enhance reporting mechanisms for improved risk visibility.
  • Provide expert advice on risk-related queries from various departments.
  • Create educational materials for staff regarding risk awareness.
  • Manage relationships with external risk assessment consultants.
  • Conduct periodic assessments of risk management systems and processes.
  • Lead investigations into risk incidents and report findings.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Finance, Risk Management, or a related field
  • Professional certifications preferred
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in risk management or financial compliance
