Event Planner

Job Description

Join our vibrant team as an Event Planner in Durban. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, planning, and executing a variety of events, from corporate functions to social gatherings. The ideal candidate should have a passion for event management, a keen eye for detail, and excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Strategically plan and execute events aligned with client goals.
• Develop and manage event budgets and reconcile expenses post-event.
• Lead brainstorming sessions to develop creative ideas for events.
• Coordinate catering services and ensure food and beverage standards.
• Negotiate contracts with vendors and ensure service agreements are met.
• Implement marketing strategies to boost event visibility.
• Assist in the development of event collateral and promotional content.
• Manage registration processes and attendee communications.
• Provide exceptional customer service throughout the event lifecycle.
• Evaluate and report on event success metrics and KPIs.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field
• Additional qualifications in marketing or project management preferred

Experience

• 4+ years of relevant experience in event planning

• Event Software Proficiency

Certifications

• Certified Event Planner (CEP)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Fluency in an additional language: Bilingual ability in languages such as Afrikaans or Zulu is preferred.
• Experience with large-scale event management: Preferably with events that host over 500 guests.
