Public Health Officer

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Public Health Officer to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg. This role involves working directly with local communities to develop and implement health initiatives aimed at improving overall public health and safety. The ideal candidate will have experience in program planning, community outreach, and collaboration with governmental public health agencies.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate training sessions for community health workers and volunteers.
• Create promotional materials to raise awareness about health initiatives.
• Support the development of health policies and regulations.
• Conduct health assessments to determine community health needs.
• Provide support for emergency preparedness and response plans.
• Review and interpret public health regulations and guidelines.
• Engage with community members to promote healthy lifestyles.
• Prepare reports and presentations for funding and community meetings.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences or related field
• Master's degree in Public Health or Epidemiology is highly regarded

Experience

• 5+ years of progressive experience in public health
