Geologist

Job Description

We're on the lookout for an experienced Geologist to contribute to our projects in Polokwane. In this role, you will carry out fieldwork, collect and analyze geological samples, and prepare reports. You will engage with clients, negotiate project requirements, and ensure compliance with regulations while promoting environmental stewardship within the community.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geological surveys and assessments.
• Analyze geological data and prepare reports.
• Perform fieldwork and collect geological samples.
• Collaborate with engineers on project requirements.
• Provide expert advice on geological resources and sustainability.
• Ensure regulatory compliance in all geological undertakings.
• Assess environmental impacts of proposed projects.
• Participate in community outreach and education on geological topics.
• Utilize GIS and other software tools for data analysis.
• Prepare presentations for stakeholders and clients.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or related field
• Master's degree is advantageous

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in geological assessments or related role

• Geological Software (e.g. ArcGIS, RockWorks)
• Data Analysis

Certifications

• Registered Professional Geologist (RPG)
• Certified Environmental Professional (CEP)

Languages

• English: Fluent
