Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Molecular Biology Scientist to join our team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting laboratory experiments, analysing and interpreting data, and communicating research findings. Experience in molecular biology techniques and excellent problem-solving skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct molecular assays such as PCR, qPCR, and Western Blotting.
• Develop and optimize protocols for gene editing technologies.
• Maintain accurate lab notebooks and documentation of results.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss project progress and findings.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality regulations in the laboratory.
• Assist in the analysis of large genomic datasets.
• Foster a collaborative environment to facilitate innovation and success.

Requirements

Education

• Masters or PhD degree in Molecular Biology or a related field
• Relevant post-doctoral experience is advantageous

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in a laboratory setting
