Bridge Construction Specialist

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Bridge Construction Specialist to join our dynamic team in Sandton. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of bridge design, construction methodologies, and project management skills. As a key player in our projects, you will ensure compliance with the latest safety regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily construction activities and provide on-site leadership.
• Ensure that all construction work is carried out according to specifications.
• Manage budgets, schedules, and resources for multiple projects.
• Foster a culture of compliance and safety across the construction team.
• Resolve conflicts and issues that arise during construction in a timely manner.
• Report on project status, risks, and issues to senior management regularly.
• Assist in the development of project proposals and bids.
• Attend industry conferences and networking events to promote company offerings.
• Review and approve project change orders and variations.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in managing construction projects, specifically in bridge works

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Bridge Inspector Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in international bridge projects: Past experience working on bridge construction projects outside South Africa.
• Advanced knowledge of BIM software: Familiarity with Building Information Modeling software for project planning.
