Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Step Down Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. As a Step Down RN, you will be responsible for providing critical care to patients transitioning from intensive care units to general medical/surgical units, ensuring they receive the highest standard of nursing care.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating patient responses to treatments and modifying care plans as necessary.
  • Engaging in regular rounds with the healthcare team to discuss patient progress.
  • Managing and overseeing the use of medical equipment and technology.
  • Education and mentoring of junior nursing staff.
  • Participating in departmental meetings and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Education
  • Registered Nurse (RN) qualification from an accredited institution.
  • Valid South African Nursing Council (SANC) registration.
  • Additional certifications in Critical Care or Step Down Nursing (advantageous).
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in critical care or step down nursing.

Advantageous
