Job Description

Join our team as a Veterinary Technician where you will provide exceptional care and support in a busy veterinary setting. Your responsibilities will involve direct contact with animals, client education, and performing clinical tasks to ensure the health and wellbeing of patients.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with clinical examinations and surgical procedures.
• Prepare animal patients for procedures by administering sedatives and monitoring anesthesia.
• Perform blood collections, and run laboratory diagnostics.
• Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery.
• Maintain client communication regarding animal health and treatments.
• Manage the medical inventory and supplies, ensuring efficiency.
• Assist in maintaining hygienic and organized working conditions in the clinic.
• Help with educational material preparation for clients.
• Provide assistance in training of new staff and interns.
• Participate in continuing education to constantly improve skills.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Veterinary Nursing or related field
• Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science is desirable

Experience

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in veterinary practice

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic
