Mental Health Therapist

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Mental Health Therapist to join our team in Johannesburg. You will work directly with clients, providing individual and group therapy sessions, assessments, and treatment plans tailored to their unique needs. As a key team member, you will help promote mental wellness within the community through evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct therapeutic assessments and evaluations.
• Develop tailored therapeutic interventions for clients.
• Engage in regular supervision and peer consultation.
• Prepare and present case studies in team meetings.
• Participate in professional development and training opportunities.
• Advocate for client access to mental health services.
• Develop and implement strategies for client engagement.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Psychology or Social Work
• Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of clinical experience in mental health therapy

Technical Skills

• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
• Group Therapy Facilitation
• Assessment and Diagnosis

Certifications

• Registered Counselor (RPC)
• Trauma-Informed Care Certification

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Intermediate
