Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter with a passion for evaluating risks and determining appropriate coverage. In this role, you will analyze applications, assess risk exposures, and make informed decisions that protect our clients and our company.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of risk factors associated with insurance applications.
• Communicate underwriting requirements and decisions effectively.
• Engage with clients to discuss policy options and changes.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Develop new underwriting procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or related field
• Additional insurance-related certifications are beneficial

Experience

• 4+ years in the insurance industry with underwriting experience preferred

• Data Analysis
• Insurance Software Proficiency

• Negotiation Skills

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience in a corporate insurance environment: Prior experience working in a structured corporate insurance setting.
