Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Legal Advisor to join our team in Durban. In this role, you will provide expert legal counsel, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations while advising the organization on complex legal matters. Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of local laws and regulations, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Interpret laws and regulations, advising management on implications.
• Maintain accurate records of legal documents and communications.
• Respond to internal and external legal inquiries.
• Ensure proper risk management by identifying potential legal issues.
• Create and implement compliance auditing measures.
• Foster relationships with legal authorities and regulatory bodies.
• Stay updated on industry trends and legal developments.
• Support the firm in ethical practices and corporate governance.

Requirements

Education

• LLB or similar legal qualification
• Specialization in Corporate Law is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of legal advisory experience, preferably in a corporate environment

Certifications

• Certified Legal Manager (CLM)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational
