Aerospace Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Aerospace Engineer to join our dynamic team in Cape Town. You will be at the helm of designing and developing innovative aerospace systems, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong engineering background, particularly in aerospace dynamics and propulsion systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical assessments and perform risk management for aerospace projects.
• Utilize CAD software to create and modify design specifications.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge within the team.
• Integrate new technologies into the design process to improve efficiency.
• Engage with stakeholders to align project goals with organisational strategy.
• Assess vendor capabilities and collaborate with suppliers to ensure high-quality inputs.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field
• Master's degree in Engineering is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of aerospace design and development experience

Technical Skills

• Systems Engineering
• Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

Soft Skills

• Problem-Solving
• Leadership

Certifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
• Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing Principles: Knowledge of lean principles to improve efficiency in engineering processes.
• Familiarity with Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile environments to promote iterative development.
