Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing the construction of various structures. You will work closely with architects and contractors to ensure the structural integrity and safety of projects.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement structural design standards.
  • Evaluate the performance of materials and their suitability for use.
  • Implement best practices in construction processes.
  • Attend project meetings and represent the engineering team.
  • Liaise with local authorities to secure necessary approvals.
  • Train and mentor junior engineering staff.
  • Conduct regular inspections and safety audits on job sites.
  • Stay updated on industry developments and technologies.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering is preferred
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the structural field
Technical Skills
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Structural Design Codes
Soft Skills
  • Leadership
  • Problem-solving
Certifications
  • Registered Engineer with ECSA
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus
Languages
