Job Description

We are on the lookout for a passionate Event Planner to join our dynamic team in Durban. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of events, from conceptualisation to execution. This role involves liaising with clients, managing vendors, and ensuring that every detail is flawlessly executed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site visits and prepare event layouts.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Monitor and respond to event issues as they arise.
• Provide exceptional customer service to clients and guests.
• Build and maintain relationships with key vendors and stakeholders.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
• Evaluate and recommend improvements for future events.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality or related field
• Postgraduate qualification is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in event planning or project management

Technical Skills

• Event Design
• Logistics Coordination

Soft Skills

Certifications

• International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) Certification
• Project Management Professional (PMP)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with Audio-Visual Technologies: Proficient in using AV equipment and understanding technical requirements for events.
• Knowledge of Sponsorship Management: Experience in securing and managing sponsorships for events.
