Job Description

As a Clam Digger, you will be responsible for harvesting clams from ocean beds and shorelines. Your role demands physical stamina and the ability to adapt to challenging weather conditions. This position not only requires dedication to quality but also teamwork, as you'll be working closely with other seafood harvesters.

Responsibilities

• Effectively communicate with team members and management.
• Monitor equipment for proper functioning and safety.
• Regularly assist in training new crew members.
• Participate in team planning meetings to enhance operations.

Requirements

Education

• Equivalent work experience accepted

Experience

• Experience operating boats and other marine equipment is a plus.

Technical Skills

• Map reading
• Basic math skills

Certifications

• First aid and CPR training (preferred)

Languages

• Afrikaans: Basic

Advantageous

• Knowledge of seafood marketing: Experience in the marketing and sales of seafood products.
• Training in equipment maintenance: Ability to repair and maintain harvesting tools and equipment.
