Job Description

Apex Engineering Solutions is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to work on various projects in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and overseeing the construction of structural frameworks, ensuring the safety and sustainability of all projects.

Responsibilities

• Interface with clients to understand their project requirements and expectations.
• Perform calculations to ensure design safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Utilize CAD software for drafting and generating structural models.
• Engage in site visits and meetings with contractors to discuss project milestones.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget while meeting quality standards.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for holistic project execution.
• Lead engineering reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Contribute to the development of engineering protocols and guidelines.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns in best practices.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or related field

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience in the engineering field

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Steel and Concrete Design

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Attention to Detail

Certifications

• Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with sustainable building practices: Knowledge of green building techniques and sustainability principles.
