We are on the lookout for a Mechanical Engineer based in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will be involved in designing and implementing mechanical systems, performing calculations, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Excellent communication skills and a detail-oriented approach are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical design projects from concept to implementation.
• Conduct feasibility studies for new designs.
• Utilize CAD software to create detailed engineering drawings.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements.
• Monitor project budgets and timelines closely.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Facilitate and lead project meetings with relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on product design

Technical Skills

• SolidWorks
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Soft Skills

• Project management
• Communication

Certifications

• Six Sigma Green Belt
• Certified Engineering Technician (CET) is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Proficiency in Python or similar programming languages: Experience in programming for simulation or automation tasks.
• Knowledge of material science and properties: Understanding of different materials and their applications in engineering.
