Hoist and Winch Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a Hoist and Winch Operator responsible for the safe and efficient operation of hoisting equipment on various construction sites. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating skip hoists, ensuring materials are delivered and moved safely and correctly.

Responsibilities

• Control the operation of skip hoists, ensuring materials are transported smoothly across the site.
• Conduct safety checks on equipment before operation.
• Communicate with team members to ensure smooth transitions and operations.
• Maintain accurate records of materials moved throughout the day.
• Assist in training new staff in the effective use of hoisting equipment.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss progress and safety improvements.

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate or equivalent

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience operating skip hoists or similar equipment

Technical Skills

• Mechanical Skills
• Safety Regulation Knowledge

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Forklift license: A valid forklift license is a plus for additional responsibilities.
• Experience in a supervisory role: Experience overseeing junior operators is advantageous.
