Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Substance Abuse and Behavioral Disorder Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing therapeutic services to individuals struggling with addiction and behavioral issues. You will be responsible for assessing client needs and developing personalized treatment plans.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate clients’ conditions based on thorough assessments.
• Design and facilitate individual counselling sessions.
• Support clients in building resilience and self-efficacy.
• Engage clients' families in the treatment process.
• Document client interactions and treatment progress diligently.
• Develop workshops and group therapy sessions.
• Participate in interdepartmental meetings to discuss treatment strategies.
• Provide crisis intervention as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Promote community awareness around substance abuse issues.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Counseling or related field
• Valid license as a Professional Counselor (LPC)
• Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in counseling or therapy practice.
