Systems Administrator

Job Description

We are seeking a proactive Systems Administrator to manage and enhance our IT infrastructure at Tech Solutions Ltd. located in Durban. The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach to resolving technical challenges, and will be instrumental in the deployment and maintenance of server systems. You will ensure systems availability and security, and play a key role in supporting the tech team by providing technical assistance to staff and maintaining documentation of IT processes.

Responsibilities

• Strategically plan and implement system upgrades and migrations.
• Create user accounts and manage access permissions.
• Respond to service requests efficiently and effectively.
• Maintain an inventory of IT equipment and software licenses.
• Evaluate system performance metrics and make recommendations.
• Support installation and configuration of new devices and systems.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and improve system security.
• Facilitate remote support for users during out-of-office hours.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field
• Relevant certifications preferred

Experience

• 3-5 years in a system support role preferred

Certifications

• CompTIA Security+
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP)

Languages

• English: Fluent
