Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Veterinary Surgeon to join our dynamic team in Port Elizabeth. You will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of animal health issues, performing surgeries, and providing preventative care. Your expertise will play a vital role in improving the health and well-being of pets and livestock in our community.

Responsibilities

  • Examine animals to diagnose their health and treat them.
  • Perform surgeries and procedures in an efficient and humane manner.
  • Advise pet owners on health care, nutrition, and behavioral issues.
  • Document pet records and communicate effectively with the team.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to junior staff and interns.
  • Participate in educational workshops and community events.
  • Research and implement new veterinary procedures and services.
  • Ensure the clinic follows all health and safety regulations.

Requirements

Education
  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree
  • Specialization in a veterinary field is a plus.
Experience
  • 5+ years of practical experience in veterinary practice.
