Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Veterinary Surgeon to join our passionate team in East London. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of animal health issues, performing surgeries, and providing preventative care. Candidates must possess a strong commitment to animal welfare and have excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Examine animals to detect illnesses or injuries.
  • Formulate an ongoing treatment plan for pets with chronic illnesses.
  • Assist in managing veterinary staff and training new team members.
  • Monitor the health and behavior of hospitalized patients.
  • Manage surgical patients during pre- and post-operative care.
  • Participate in community outreach programs to promote animal welfare.
  • Provide emergency care as needed during clinic hours.
  • Maintain compliance with veterinary regulations and standard operating procedures.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine
  • Registered with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC)
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in veterinary practice
