Job Description

As a Veterinarian at our Durban clinic, you will play a vital role in animal health. You will diagnose and treat medical conditions, provide outpatient care, and work closely with a team of veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure the well-being of our patients.

Responsibilities

  • Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose illnesses.
  • Develop treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
  • Carry out surgeries, including spaying/neutering and other procedures.
  • Offer behavioural counselling and training advice for pet owners.
  • Manage follow-up appointments and patient progress.
  • Work with a variety of species, including wildlife and exotic pets.
  • Conduct health checks for animals in shelters and rescues.
  • Provide nutritional guidance and health education to clients.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant veterinary legislation and standards.
  • Assist in the training of junior veterinary staff and interns.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in veterinary sciences or a related field
  • Postgraduate qualifications are advantageous
Experience
  • Experience in mixed practice is desirable.
