Environmental Scientist

Job Description

We are looking for an Environmental Scientist who is passionate about sustainability and ecological conservation to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in conducting field studies, analysing data, and recommending practices to ensure environmental compliance and preserve our natural resources.

Responsibilities

• Perform environmental risk assessments and audits.
• Design and implement projects aimed at conservation and sustainability.
• Collect and analyze data on biodiversity and ecosystems.
• Work with scientists and specialists to develop environmental policies.
• Advise organizations on sustainability best practices.
• Conduct workshops and outreach programs to enhance community awareness.
• Prepare funding proposals for environmental projects.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field
• Master's degree in Environmental Policy is a plus

Experience

• 3-5 years of professional experience in environmental consultancy

• GIS Mapping

Certifications

• Environmental Impact Assessment Certification
• LEED Green Associate

Languages

• English: Fluent
