Job Description

We seek a passionate Investment Banker to join our Cape Town team. In this role, you will be responsible for advising clients on investment strategies, conducting financial analyses, and facilitating complex transactions. You will play a crucial role in shaping our clients’ financial success while enhancing your expertise in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct extensive market research to identify investment opportunities.
• Develop and refine financial models to support investment decisions.
• Consult with clients to understand their financial objectives and tailor solutions accordingly.
• Monitor and report on market developments and competitor activity.
• Assist in managing client accounts and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Contribute to marketing initiatives to enhance the firm's visibility in the market.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Economics or related field
• MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience in investment banking or corporate finance

Technical Skills

• Market Analysis
• Advanced Excel Skills

Soft Skills

• Negotiation Skills
• Time Management

Certifications

• CFA Certification or equivalent is preferred
• CIMA Certification is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in M&A transactions: Hands-on experience in managing mergers and acquisitions would be beneficial.
• Proficiency in additional languages such as Afrikaans or Xhosa: Ability to converse in local languages to augment client relationships.
