Gear Shaper Set-Up Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Gear Shaper Set-Up Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating gear shaping equipment to produce gears of various types and sizes. You will work closely with other members of the manufacturing team to ensure that production targets are met and quality standards are maintained.

Responsibilities

• Setup and adjust gear shaping machines to produce various types of gears.
• Interpret technical drawings and specifications relevant to gear shaping.
• Conduct quality assessments on gear profiles to adhere to company standards.
• Assist in streamlining production processes for efficiency.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Utilise CNC programming for precision in gear production.
• Maintain clear documentation of setups and production runs.
• Collaborate with quality assurance inspectors to resolve any non-conformance.
• Enforce a culture of safety and compliance at all levels.
• Provide feedback on equipment performance to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Technical diploma in machining or manufacturing is preferred.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years in gear shaping or similar machining environment.

Technical Skills

• Experience with hand tools and measurement instruments
• Blueprint reading

Soft Skills

• Flexibility and adaptability
• Good communication skills

Certifications

• Lean manufacturing principles knowledge is advantageous.

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles: Experience implementing lean principles in manufacturing settings.
• Certifications in manufacturing or engineering: Any additional certifications are a competitive advantage.
