Job Description

As an Urban Planner at Urban Visionaries Ltd., you’ll work closely with diverse teams to create development plans that enhance community well-being and environmental quality. Your insights will guide infrastructure improvements and land use management effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist in environmental assessments and sustainability evaluations.
• Design urban spaces that encourage public participation.
• Participate in inter-departmental meetings and strategy sessions.
• Utilize GIS and planning software for accurate data presentation.
• Mentor junior planners and interns on best practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning or Environmental Studies
• Master's degree is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years in urban design/land use planning

• Urban Design Software
• Policy Development

Soft Skills

• Team Leadership
• Negotiation

Certifications

• Certified Urban Planner (CUP)
• Sustainable Urban Development Certification is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Skills in landscape architecture: Ability to incorporate landscape design into urban planning projects.
• Grant writing experience: Proven track record of securing funding through successful grant applications.
