Job Description

As a Heritage Conservation Officer, you will play a pivotal role in promoting and preserving South Africa's cultural heritage. Your focus will include conservation strategies while engaging local communities and stakeholders in heritage tourism initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Implement heritage conservation awareness programs targeting schools and local communities.
  • Assess cultural resources and develop conservation plans.
  • Create monitoring systems for long-term conservation tracking.
  • Collaborate with researchers to document heritage resources.
  • Engage with local artists and craftsmen to promote traditional skills.
  • Assist in the development of tourism strategies that will benefit local communities.

Requirements

Education
  • Master’s degree in Heritage Management or related discipline
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in heritage conservation
