Job Description

As an Ophthalmic Laboratory Technician, you will play a pivotal role in assisting optometrists and ophthalmologists by preparing, processing, and fitting lenses into eyewear. Your attention to detail is critical as you will ensure accuracy and quality in every task.

Responsibilities

  • Set up equipment for lens grinding and polishing.
  • Test and adjust lenses as necessary to meet specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of lens prescriptions and patient information.
  • Assist in developing training materials for new laboratory technicians.
  • Participate in continuing education opportunities to enhance skills.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the laboratory.

Requirements

Education
  • High School Diploma
  • Certification in Optics or Ophthalmic Technology is preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a fast-paced optical lab
