We are seeking an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our Port Elizabeth office. In this role, you will evaluate insurance applications, assess risk, and determine policy terms and conditions. Your expertise will help us provide our clients with the best insurance solutions tailored to their individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Assess risk through comprehensive analysis of applications.
• Set policy guidelines and ensure adherence to company standards.
• Work closely with sales teams to devise customized insurance solutions.
• Advise clients on policy coverage options and terms.
• Conduct market research to stay ahead of competitive offerings.
• Develop strategic relationships with insurance partners.
• Utilize underwriting software for efficient application processing.
• Prepare reports on underwriting activities and risk assessments.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Finance, Risk Management, or related field is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in underwriting within the insurance sector

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of reinsurance processes: Experience in dealing with reinsurance policies and processes is a plus.
