Job Description

As a Bark Scaler at Forestry Dynamics, you will be responsible for removing bark from logs to prepare them for processing in our sawmill. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Remove bark from logs or lumber using chainsaws and bark removal tools.
• Ensure logs meet quality standards before processing.
• Document measurements and logs processed for production records.
• Train new team members on proper bark removal techniques.
• Assist with maintenance of the bark removal equipment.
• Work collaboratively with the harvesting crew to optimize workflow.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives for operational processes.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Training in forestry or wood processing preferred

Experience

• No prior experience required, but experience in forestry or wood processing is advantageous.

Technical Skills

Certifications

• Valid driver's license
