Job Description

In the role of Solar Energy Consultant, you will provide strategic guidance on the design and implementation of solar energy systems. Your responsibilities will include assessing client needs and proposing tailored solar solutions to optimize energy efficiency and savings.

Responsibilities

• Assess client energy needs and create suitable solar system designs.
• Offer consultancy on energy efficiency and solar technologies.
• Develop relationships with clients to encourage long-term partnerships.
• Guide clients on subsidy and financing options.
• Draft detailed proposals that include cost analyses and ROI projections.
• Collaborate with other engineers to optimize designs.
• Conduct training sessions for clients on solar system operation.
• Research new solar technologies to enhance service offerings.
• Ensure compliance with energy regulations and safety standards.
• Provide ongoing support throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Renewable Energy or Mechanical Engineering
• Certifications in Solar Technology preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in solar design and consulting projects

Technical Skills

• Energy Modelling Software
• System Design and Optimization

Soft Skills

• Client Relationship Management
• Negotiation

Certifications

• LEED Green Associate
• Certified Energy Manager (CEM)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience in Sales or Business Development: Background in sales or business development within the renewable energy sector.
• Knowledge of Environmental Regulations: Understanding of local and national environmental regulations affecting solar installations.
