Job Description

As an Explosives Worker, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling of explosives in mining operations. Your role will involve setting up and preparing blasting equipment, following stringent safety guidelines, and consistently communicating with your team to ensure operational success.

Responsibilities

• Set up blast patterns and prepare blast holes for optimal results.
• Perform routine inspections of blasting equipment.
• Coordinate with the drilling team to ensure the effective execution of blasting plans.
• Implement safe handling and storage procedures for explosives.
• Assist with post-blast evaluations and reports to assess effectiveness and safety.
• Engage in physical labour as required on-site.

Requirements

Education

• Grade 10 or equivalent
• National Diploma in Mining or equivalent (advantageous)

Experience

• Experience working in a mining or construction environment is advantageous.

Technical Skills

• Explosives handling
• Heavy machinery operation

Soft Skills

Certifications

• Explosives Safety Certificate

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Prior experience in the mining sector: Experience working in roles involving explosives handling or mining operations.
