Printing Press Operator

Job Description

As a Printing Press Operator, you will set up and operate tinning machines to produce high-quality coated metal strips. Your attention to detail will ensure that all production meets specified standards. We seek candidates who are skilled in reading blueprints and work orders.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate tinning machines to ensure products meet quality standards.
• Monitor and troubleshoot machinery to maintain efficient operations.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with quality control technicians to ensure product quality.
• Conduct training sessions for new operators.
• Implement process improvements for efficiency.
• Complete maintenance checklists and document repairs.
• Assist in inventory management of materials.
• Support other production staff as required.

Requirements

Education

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
• Technical or vocational training in metalworking or related field preferred

Experience

• At least 3 years of experience in a similar role with experience in machine setup and operation.

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with tinning machines or other metal coating equipment.: Practical experience operating and maintaining tinning machinery.

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.: Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies to optimise the operation.
