Service Unit Operator (Rig Operator)

Job Description

A Rig Operator plays a crucial role in our operations by efficiently managing and operating drilling machinery on both offshore and onshore rigs. This position requires a keen understanding of safety protocols, technical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on maintaining optimal performance and adhering to environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate drilling rigs in both offshore and onshore environments.
• Perform routine and emergency maintenance on drilling equipment.
• Ensure reliability and accuracy of drilling logs and other documentation.
• Monitor real-time data to efficiently manage drilling operations.
• Communicate effectively with other team members to enhance productivity.
• Participate in safety drills and adhere to all safety policies.
• Document and report any incidents to the site manager promptly.
• Contribute to the development of operational improvements.
• Supervise junior operators and provide guidance as needed.

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate or equivalent
• Technical Certification in drilling operations is advantageous

Experience

• 3 - 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry

Technical Skills

• Rig equipment operation
• Safety protocols and regulations

Soft Skills

• Attention to detail
• Leadership

Certifications

• First Aid Certification
• Basic Firefighting Training

Languages

• English: Fluent
