Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are actively seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our thriving team in Durban. The successful candidate will engage in designing, analyzing, and overseeing various mechanical systems while ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive mechanical design processes for new projects.
• Work with suppliers and vendors to source necessary materials.
• Evaluate and improve existing mechanical systems for efficiency.
• Administer testing protocols and analyze results to inform design decisions.
• Document all changes and revisions in engineering project files.
• Provide support during the installation and commissioning phases.
• Coordinate with electrical and software engineers on integrated projects.
• Contribute to project budget management and cost estimation.
• Present design concepts and updates to stakeholders.
• Supervise junior engineers and interns where applicable.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Postgraduate qualification is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical systems

Technical Skills

• CAD Software

Certifications

• Lean Manufacturing Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with HVAC systems: Knowledge and experience working on Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning projects.
