Job Description

As a Drag Seiner, your role will involve operating and maintaining fishing gear specifically designed to catch fish using a large seine net. You will work closely with a dedicated team to ensure safe and efficient fishing operations on the ocean.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the operation of seine nets during fishing trips.
  • Train new crew members on the proper use of fishing gear.
  • Implement measures for sustainability in fishing practices.
  • Ensure a high level of sanitation on board the fishing vessel.
  • Assist in preparing reports on daily fishing outcomes for management.
  • Maintain an understanding of marine regulations and compliance.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork and safety among crew members.

Requirements

Education
  • Valid skipper's license or equivalent certification
  • First aid and CPR certification, preferred
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in fishing operations with specific experience in seine fishing.
