Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Johannesburg team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical systems, design, and development, along with hands-on experience in project management. You'll work on a variety of innovative projects, collaborating with a skilled team to create efficient designs and implement solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead design reviews and offer constructive feedback.
• Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
• Supervise junior engineers and interns in project tasks.
• Prepare technical presentations and reports for stakeholders.
• Assist in the development of safety protocols and guidelines.
• Continuously refine designs based on testing results and feedback.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Relevant certifications are a plus

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in a mechanical role with project experience

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• MATLAB

Soft Skills

• Analytical Thinking
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Lean Six Sigma Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Proficiency in additional CAD software: Experience with CAD tools like CATIA or Inventor is preferred.
• Experience in a multidisciplinary project environment: Ability to coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
