Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Psychologist to join our team in East London. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical psychology and be passionate about providing therapy and support to a diverse range of clients. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and leading therapeutic sessions.

Responsibilities

• Assess client needs through interviews and standardized tests.
• Design personalized therapy programs to address mental health issues.
• Conduct therapy sessions using various therapeutic techniques.
• Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers for integrated care.
• Provide training and supervision to interns and new staff.
• Engage with the community through outreach programs and events.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Clinical Psychology
• Additional certifications in specialized therapy methods are beneficial

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in a therapeutic setting, preferably in mental health care

Technical Skills

• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
• Group Therapy Facilitation

Soft Skills

• Problem Solving
• Interpersonal Skills

Certifications

• HPCSA registration
• Certification in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Basic

Advantageous

• Bilingual skills in English and Afrikaans: Ability to provide therapy in both languages is advantageous.
