We are seeking a passionate and skilled Zoo Veterinarian to join our team in Durban. In this role, you will provide extensive medical and surgical care to a variety of species and play an essential part in wildlife conservation efforts.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and treat a range of animal health issues, ensuring prompt and effective medical care.
Conduct regular health assessments and develop preventative healthcare strategies.
Work with the veterinary team on animal welfare and rescue operations.
Engage with the public to promote awareness of wildlife conservation issues.
Oversee the procurement and use of medical supplies.
Train and mentor junior veterinary staff and interns.
Requirements
Education
Degree in Veterinary Medicine
Specialization in wildlife or zoo medicine is preferred.
Experience
Experience with exotic animals is highly desirable.
