Job Description

As an Adapted Physical Education Specialist, you will provide tailored physical education instruction to students with disabilities. Your role is crucial in developing their motor skills, enhancing fitness levels, and promoting overall physical well-being. You'll work closely with educators and healthcare professionals to ensure a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and adapt inclusive physical education lesson plans that encourage participation.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of physical education programs and make necessary adjustments.
  • Conduct assessments to track students' improvement and set new physical goals.
  • Interact with community resources and local sports organizations to enhance educational offerings.
  • Create an encouraging atmosphere conducive to students’ learning and physical development.
  • Organize and participate in physical activities outside the classroom setting, such as sports days or field trips.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support sensory and motor development.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and practices in adapted physical education.
  • Be an advocate for students with disabilities within the educational context.
  • Provide motivation and support to students to help them achieve their physical and fitness goals.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Special Education, or a related field
  • Teaching certification or equivalent
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working as a physical education or special education teacher.

Certifications
