Responsibilities

  • Administer and interpret psychological tests and assessments.
  • Facilitate therapeutic groups that address specific mental health topics.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Engage with patients' families to provide guidance and support.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and research in psychology.
  • Conduct workshops and seminars on mental health topics.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to treatment discussions.
  • Develop educational materials for patient and community education.
  • Advocate for patient needs and coordinate with external resources.
  • Conduct research projects related to mental health practices.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Psychology
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology is a plus
Experience
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a clinical environment
Technical Skills
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
  • Crisis Intervention
Soft Skills
  • Teamwork
  • Critical Thinking
Certifications
  • Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
  • Certification in Trauma-Informed Care is an advantage
Languages
  • English: Fluent
  • isiXhosa: Basic
